Finding the perfect kid-friendly breakfast can be a daunting task, to say the least. Children are undoubtedly some of the pickiest eaters in the house. And, very often they need a little encouragement to get their day started the right way. Breakfast is the most important meals of the day, especially for little ones. Hyped up activity levels will naturally mean they require more sustenance than adults.

Karaglen is here to help. We want to make sure your little ones start their day great. And to do this we’ve put together a few easy to make recipes and meal ideas that you can try to get your fussy eaters starting their day right.

Tato Egg Bake

A few SPAR hash browns and two eggs will go a long way to ensuring the little ones begin their day feeling full.

You’ll Need

  • Four SPAR hash browns
  • Two eggs
  • 1 Tomato
  • Salt to taste
  • Sprinkle of cheese


  1. Start by preparing the hash browns as per the instructions on the packet.
  2. Once done, chop the hash browns into smaller pieces.
  3. Add to an ovenproof dish and crack over the two eggs.
  4. Chop up your tomato and add to the dish then season with salt.
  5. Sprinkle over the cheese and bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
  6. Allow to cool slightly and serve.

Magical Muesli

Muesli releases energy over a long time and will help your little ones feel fuller for longer. This is the perfect kid-friendly breakfast.

You’ll Need

  • 150g SPAR Muesli
  • Freshline bananas
  • 200g unsweetened Greek yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey


  1. Add muesli, chopped banana and yoghurt to a bowl.
  2. Top with honey
  3. Serve

Overnight Oats

Ditch the morning prep and get breakfast started the night before.

You’ll Need

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 200g cottage cheese
  • 100ml milk
  • 150g oats
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 4 tablespoons of Almond slivers
  • Dash of vanilla


  1. Mash the banana and add cottage cheese and honey.
  2. Mix well until combined.
  3. Add milk, oats almonds and vanilla and mix well.
  4. Place mix in a jar and refrigerate overnight.
