Karaglen SuperSpar boasts a Cleaver Award-Winning butchery department headed by meat expert Marius Jordaan. We don’t just sell meat; we love meat. Our butchery takes great care in selecting the best meat for you. We go to great lengths to ensure that we source and package only the highest quality meat for our store.

Our selection varies from plain cuts to specially prepared meats in fresh herbs and spices. We are famous for our high quality beef and lamb products and as such have, for the past 12 years, received a number of Cleaver Awards. The annual awards aim to recognise the top butchers in the country. The event is sponsored by industry leader Freddy Hirsch and was launched in 2005 South Africa’s Red Meat Industry Forum. The Cleaver Awards recognises butcheries for the quality of their products and services incorporating in-store hygiene and value for money. Our butchery staff is always on hand to offer the best advice when it comes to your meat products.

We constantly strive to make our butchery better and in keeping with tradition we have included a new exciting meat range featuring world class Waygu and Angus Beef supplied by Woodview. Our aspiration is to constantly revolutionise the products we have on offer.
