Salads are a great summer side dish or a meal on their own, but what would your salad be without a salad dressing. Sure, you can buy one in-store and Karaglen SuperSpar stocks an incredible variety. But, have you considered making your own? Do you know that most salad dressing only takes a few minutes to make? Additionally, they can last for about a week if refrigerated correctly.

We suggest grabbing a few mason jars for your salad dressing. It’s easy to pop the ingredients in the jars, give it a good shake and pour over your salad. Super Creamy Mayo Salad Dressing

Absolutely delicious when served with a Tuna Summer Salad.

You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup Spar original mayonnaise
  • ½ cup Sour Cream
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 table spoon fresh parsley
  • ½ tablespoon onion power
  • ½ tablespoon garlic power
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Method:

  1. Add all ingredients except the milk a large bowl and mix well.
  2. Gradually add in the milk until you achieve the desired consistency.
  3. Transfer to a bottle or jar for serving and storage.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.

Lip-Licking Lemon Buttermilk Salad Dressing

This dressing is best served with salads containing chicken. Go on give it a whirl.

You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup spar original mayonnaise
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon each of freshly chopped thyme, tarragon and parsley leaves.
  • ½ tablespoon chopped chives
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

  1. In a large bowl mix together the mayo and butter, then add in the lemon juice and zest.
  2. Add in the herbs and combine thoroughly.
  3. Finish off with salt and pepper and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Sensational Salad Dressing Recipes

Spicy Herb and Lemon

If you’re serving a light fish or chicken salad this salad dressing is perfect.

You’ll Need:

  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley finely chopped.

Method:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a mason jar and tighten the lid.
  2. Shake the bottle until all ingredients are mixed well.
  3. Serve immediately or store for up to a week.
  4. Shake well before serving.

Super Sweet Balsamic Salad Dressing

This dressing is perfectly suited for use with our famous Roasted Brinjal and Feta Summer Salad.

 You’ll Need:

  • 4 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

  1. Whisk together the vinegar, oil, and sugar.
  2. Add in the mustard and whisk again until mixture is smooth.
  3. Season with pepper and salt and serve.
  4. Store leftovers in a Mason jar for up to two and use when necessary.
